代表の沖⽥敦は、 1980 年代に⽇活の洋画宣伝チームに配属された。 彼が最初に⼿がけた作品『なまいき、シャルロット』は、⽇本でシャルロット・ゲンズブールの⼈気を決定的にした記念碑的作品となった。その後、1991 年にアルシネテランに移籍し、『髪結いの亭主』(パトリス・ルコント)、『マッチ⼯場の少⼥』(アキ・カウリスマキ)などのヒット作で頭⾓を現す。1997 年、⾃⾝の会社シネマパリジャン（後のワイズポリシー）を設⽴し、アカデミー賞監督賞などを受賞し、時代を席巻したアン・リー監督の『ブロークバック・マウンテン』、同じくアン・リー監督、ヴェネツィア国際映画祭⾦獅⼦賞受賞作『ラスト、コーション』ほか、『ディナー・ラッシュ』、『橋の上の娘』、『リード・マイ・リップス』などのヒット作を⽣み出す。

2016 年、現在の会社リアリーライクフィルムズを設⽴。 2022 年にはカンヌやロカルノなど、世界の映画祭を席巻している⻤才、 中国のビー・ガン監督作品 『ロングデイズ・ジャーニーこの夜の涯てへ３Ｄ』と『凱⾥ブルース』の新旧 2 タイトルをリリースし、注⽬を集めた。また 2023年には娘シャルロット・ゲンズブールが⺟ジェーン・バーキンの真実に迫ったドキュメンタリー映画『ジェーンとシャルロット』 がヒット。

Atsushi Okita, the CEO of ReallyLikeFilms, began his career in the 1980s as part of the international film promotion team at Nikkatsu Corporation. The first film he handled, L'efrontee, became a landmark success that cemented Charlotte Gainsbourg’s popularity in Japan.

 

In 1991, he moved to Alcine Terran, where he gained prominence with hits such as The Hairdresser’s Husband (Patrice Leconte) and The Match Factory Girl (Aki Kaurismäki). Then, in 1997, he founded his own company, Cinéma Parisien (later renamed Wise Policy), where he distributed acclaimed films including Brokeback Mountain (directed by Ang Lee, winner of the Academy Award for Best Director), Lust, Caution (also directed by Ang Lee, winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice International Film Festival), Dinner Rush, The Girl on the Bridge, and Read My Lips.

 

In 2016, he established ReallyLikeFilms. In 2022, he released two works by Chinese auteur Bi Gan, Long Day’s Journey into Night (3D) and Kaili Blues, both of which had gained global recognition at prestigious festivals such as Cannes and Locarno. These releases garnered significant attention.

 

In 2023, he distributed the documentary Jane by Charlotte, directed by Charlotte Gainsbourg, which offered an intimate portrait of her mother, Jane Birkin, and became a box office success. Last year, he has also brought Firebird, an LGBTQ+ co-production between Estonia and the UK, to Japanese audiences, where it continues to be a major hit.

 

Over the course of his career, he has been involved in the distribution of more than 100 films.
